Process Engineer
Meet our colleague Zahra Abdolmaleki! In Seed Processing Holland‘s Engineering team, Zahra is one of our process engineers.
Together with her colleagues, she calculates and designs processes for various solutions. She is also focuses specifically on fluid dynamics of the processes in order to achieve the best result.
“In 2021 I started at SPH and what I like the most are the friendly and open-minded people. At SPH I see a lot of eagerness to improve and learn. Everyone is open to new ideas. I put my bike in our covered bicycle parking. I start up my computer, grab a cup of coffee and the day can begin. At our office, the start time varies between 07:00 and 09:00.
9:00
Kick-off meeting with various colleagues from the sales, planning and service department. Going through a customer order to find out what the customer wishes are and whether they are feasible.
10:00
First past the coffee machine to continue answering my e-mails, and in addition, I open the HiCad drawing package to continue working on the engineering assignment I completed yesterday.
12:30
Lunch walk with colleagues

With our 3D printer I can make all kinds of pieces for prototypes or machines. Setting up such a printer seems simple, but you have to take several factors into account, including the speed and temperature of the nozzle.
14:30
In-house meeting in which I have to demonstrate that the new machine works better than the current one. For this, I collect data from both machines which I present to my colleagues. It turns out that if I make some adjustments to the variable speed drive, the machine's motor does its job much more efficiently.

A break from measuring. We always have chocolate on Thursdays. That makes work a lot more fun!

Send last mail and close the computer. Another day tomorrow 😊 Together, we make an important contribution to the availability of healthy food and colourful flowers. We continuously face new challenges and I contribute to solutions. What will you do?
